America’s SBDC is thrilled to announce it will be partnering with Grow with Google to train more than 30,000 small businesses to become digitally ready.

Since 2017, more than five million Americans have grown their businesses and careers with help from Grow with Google’s trainings and virtual workshops. And through our network of nearly 1,000 Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs), more people across the country have access to Google’s free online tools and flexible programs.

We believe technology has the power to unlock new opportunities for growth. When those opportunities are available to everyone, communities across the country can achieve their full potential.

Town Center MusicSuccess Story – Growing with Google

Meet Town Center Music, in Suwanee, Georgia. They sell music equipment such as guitars, drums and amplifying/sound systems, as well as providing lessons in all kinds of instruments. Co-owner Aaron Brown set up a Google ad campaign but quickly realized he needed some help, as his campaign was not meeting expectations.

Aaron went to his local SBDC at the University of Georgia SBDC and met with his advisor, Drew Tonsmeire, to review the music store’s Google Ad campaigns. Drew helped Aaron to structure his campaigns with better keywords and designated landing pages, and he showed Aaron how to monitor and refine his ad campaigns. Drew helped Aaron improve his Google My Business profile, with better business descriptions, photos, posts, and analysis of insights about his Google property. Drew also taught Aaron how to use Google Analytics, tie Google ads into dashboard metrics, and use the Google Search Console to maximize the search engine optimization of his website.

Since most new customers find out about Town Center Music through a Google search, maximizing the performance of the store’s website, ads, and map listing have helped position the company as a leading musical instrument retailer in Northeast Atlanta. Aaron credits the increase in his business to a properly structured campaign that matches what his customers are looking for with his various listings, whether organic, paid, or app-based.
