#M3 – Maximizing Millennial Minds
June 8-9, 2016, New Orleans

The Louisiana SBDC, partnered with America’s SBDC, is hosting a professional development conference that will explore, engage and elevate millennials in the SBDC network. Our mission is to target and engage millennials in order to enhance the SBDC workforce, as well as improve the consulting process for millennial entrepreneurs. This conference will also help SBDCs develop a strategic plan to help retain millennials in the network and position them for leadership roles in the future.

The learning objectives are geared to three areas of focus: Management, Consulting and Marketing.

Breakout 1: Consulting

This session will inform and develop attendees of ways to have better relationships with millennial entrepreneurs from a banker/lender perspective and an SBDC consultant perspective.

This session is designed to help attendees better understand how to deal with millennial clients, and offer innovative tools and resources to make the counseling process easier and more efficient.

Breakout 2: Marketing

This session will inform and develop attendees to better understand the use of social media for persona building and SBDC branding in regards to legislative and stakeholder relations.

This session will debunk the social media misnomers and myths, demonstrate the value social media can bring to marketing an SBDC, and address how these networks can be used as a tool for thought leadership and executive visibility campaigns.

Breakout 3: Management

This session was created purposely to receive input in order to fully understand the ROI.

This session will have a moderator/facilitator who has climbed the SBDC ranks to help encourage a dialogue so information can be documented and reported back to SBDC Directors and Associate Directors. The information found here will have the ability to translate into a strategic plan, and can be used for training and development.
